We are excited to offer in office ultrasound for your pregnancy. Our in-house sonographers are obstetrically trained and all scans are read by a physician.
The average pregnancy will require 2 ultrasounds. One early to confirm your due date, and a second between 18 and 22 weeks to evaluate fetal anatomy. Additional ultrasounds may be required depending on an individualized basis should your pregnancy stray from routine prenatal care. Reasons for additional imaging include: diabetes, hypertension, uterine size greater than or less than expected for your due date on manual exam, excessive weight gain, inadequate weight gain, or elevated starting BMI. If an abnormality is noted on one of your standard ultrasounds, follow up may be required in our office or occasionally a maternal fetal medicine specialist.
